Hoopsnake is a new Grasshopper plugin created by Yiannis Chatzikonstantinou, founder of Volatile Prototypes. It allows for recursive iteration (a.k.a. loops) within the Grasshopper environment with a simple and clean component, something that could previouly only be achieved through scripting:
Here are some examples to test this tool. So far, I’ve found it very interesting and am sure will became a must-have very soon.
TEST 01 – TANGENT CIRCLES ALONG A PLANAR CURVE
TEST 02 – TANGENT SPHERES ALONG A 3D CURVE
TEST 03 – MAXIMUM SLOPE PATH ALONG A SURFACE
(files created with Rhino 5.0, Grasshopper 0.8.0010 and Hoopsnake 0.5.1)
How do you install Hoopsnake. I keep getting errors.
Hi: Examples works under Rhino V4 gh 8…10, but not under Rhino V5. Is there a trick to using the WIPs?
I drag the GHA into the Component file under both V5 32 and V5 64. Neither can load the examples. Of course I try to save them under other names and try again.
Thanks
Al
Hi Al.
That’s very strange, they work perfectly for me under Rhino v5 + GH 0.8.0010. Try refering this problem in the official Hoopsnake thread: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/group/hoopsnake
